Texas Book Festival 2009

Jan and the FGA fashion models

The Fairy Godmother Academy appeared at the Texas Book Festival for the first time this year for an amazing experience connecting with Dreamers of all ages.

The fun started with an FGA flash mob at the Capitol steps, singing “Hello Dreamer” and enjoying people’s surprised faces as everyone around them broke into song.

Jan Bozarth spoke to the crowd in the Children’s Activity Tent about her experiences as a dreamer when she was a girl. She encouraged everyone there to think big, trust their own innate wisdom, and follow their dreams.

Jan also showed her real-life Dreambook and debuted the amazing fashions of the Aventurine Wardrobe: nine collections modeled by girls of all ages, handmade from recycled and thrifted materials, and dreamed up from pure imagination.

Jan signed books and met lots of inspiring fairy godmothers in-the-making, and then the girls created their own Lineage Journals, where they can write and draw and think about their own dreams and hopes for the world.

If you missed all the fun this time, come see us at Book People! We’re going to do it all over again with another Hello Dreamer Party, November 14th from 4-5pm. Come enjoy music, fashion, crafts, and (of course) lots of big dreams.
