I Am A Dreamer.

Always have been and always will be. If it was going to get squashed out of me, it would have happened by now.

I’ve spent years song-writing, dancing, singing, and creating other expressions of inner joy and angst. About 4 years ago I realized it all had a common thread—a story I have been writing all my life. If you are on this blog, you have either read it or heard about it: The Fairy Godmother Academy. I first saw the world of these books in a series of lucid dreams that started when I was about 9 years old. My dream world was colored a certain way—oranges with shooting beams of light and greens so beautiful they hurt the eyes. There were houses with strange rooms and many doors and windows from which to choose. I saw gardens and plants that may or may not exist in your world.

I flew a lot.

And I levitated when the menacing black cat was about to attack.
I heard songs that I brought back to the daytime world.
I worked out real life issues in dreamtime.
I had powers there.
And I could still feel these powers sometimes in the twilight of waking.

I journaled all of this from age thirteen on. This is how I tended my “little flame”—my creative spirit. Do you remember your dreams? How do you nurture your little flame, your creativity?

  1. that’s so cool that you just kept going! i got to start journaling more, but what about???

    stay happy!!

  2. Jan,
Thank you for bringing the power and wisdom of the inner world to this age. Our culture keeps them off balance and so many lose the sense of their important place in this world.

My wife GInger and I support this age with Movin’ Easy Dancewear and with our three grand daugheters ages 7 and 8, and their favorite cousin boy age 7.

We will be following you closely.

  3. Hi
You give me so much hope. I am getting your book for Christmas and can’t wait to read it even though I’m a few years (okay, a couple of decades) past those teenage years. I have been journaling forever too. I finally surrendered to the call to write a children’s book and I’m muddling through that. Your website has just inspired me so much. I even met a fellow ‘older’ person who loves children’s book too when I was in BookPeople yesterday looking at your book. Thank you!

  4. Okay this might be completely of topic but I am new so please forgive me.
Is it odd that I dream of flying very often? Like, by often I mean like once a week or so. The dreams are always different, but they all have a bit of flying in them. I fly by flapping what would be my arms (yeah I know its odd) and I can’t seem to fly long distances, witch I think is sad:(
    Please reply, any one.

  5. dreaming of flying??? well I hear from lots of girls that this is the number one thing they dream. I think it means you are really really creative. Book 6- Trinity’s Book will have a flying theme. Enjoy it.
