In the FAIRY GODMOTHER ACADEMY book series, modern day preteen girls discover that they are heiresses to ancient lineages of fairy godmothers and travel to a mystical dream world, Aventurine, to gain wisdom and power to save the world.
The first six books of an eight book series have been released by Penguin/ Random House in the English language in the US, Canada and Australia. The Fairy Godmother Academy brand provides products that capitalize on the shift in children’s pop culture from traditional stereotypes to authentic self-expression, global awareness and social action.
The Fairy Godmother Academy brand has been developed by Ananya as a trans-media property that includes books, films, games, mobile apps, merchandise, and music. A touring stage musical is also in development and a global theme park is in negotiation.
“Every author dreams of seeing their books brought to life on the big screen,” commented Bozarth. “But more importantly, it is my hope that the film, live entertainment and media products based on the Fairy Godmother Academy brand will illuminate the awesome power of dreaming girls and women across the globe.”
“The Fairy Godmother Academy series of books presents a unique and richly imagined world in which an international cast of young women get the opportunity to literally live out their dreams on an adventurous journey of empowerment. I’m excited to be a part of the team to bring Jan Bozarth’s magical vision to the screen,” said Lawrence.
Fairy Godmother Academy is represented by Marcy Posner of Folio Literary Agency in New York City and attorney Nick Fox, of Austin-based Dubois, Bryant and Campbell, LLP.
